GEO for haircare brands: be the shampoo AI suggests
Haircare prompts are specific — "sulfate-free shampoo for curly, colour-treated hair", "scalp serum for thinning hair". BeautyGEO states hair type, scalp concern and ingredients in a form AI can verify, and keeps hair-growth and dandruff wording on the right side of the rules.
What shoppers ask AI about haircare
What AI checks before it recommends a haircare product
| What the AI needs | Why it matters | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Hair type and texture fit | "For 3C curls" or "fine, flat hair" decides the answer | Hair type, texture and porosity fit in plain text — only where you have the basis |
| Scalp concern | Oily, dry, flaky, sensitive | Concern stated precisely, with cosmetic (not drug) wording |
| Ingredient filters | "Sulfate-free", "silicone-free", "colour-safe" | Used only where accurate, with full INCI as HTML text |
| Evidence behind claims | "Reduces breakage 70%" gets repeated word for word | Test type and conditions stated next to each claim you can support |
| Identical facts on every shelf | Salon, retailer and Amazon listings often drift | One canonical product record pushed everywhere |
Claims watch
- US: anti-dandruff products are OTC drugs under FDA rules, and claims to grow hair or stop hair loss are drug claims (minoxidil is an approved OTC drug). A cosmetic shampoo can say it cleans and conditions; it should not promise regrowth.
- EU and UK: claims follow the common criteria of Regulation (EU) No 655/2013; "hair-loss" wording needs particular care and evidence.
- "Free-from" claims: "sulfate-free" or "silicone-free" must be literally true and should not imply other products are unsafe.
- For AI: "reduced breakage in a 4-week combing test" is safer and more quotable than "stronger hair".
